Summer is four weeks from today. That means it is school graduation time. The last day of school for Iredell County schools is Friday. North Iredell High graduation exercises will be at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 24 at the Raider Stadium. Congratulations to North Iredell grads.

The Women on Missions of Calvary Baptist will collect non-perishable and canned food for local food banks during June.
The walking program “Soul Walkers” meets at 8 a.m. on Thursdays at Clarksbury Methodist to walk in the church parking lot.

Our community extends sympathy to the family of the Rev. Carroll Jordan, who died Tuesday of last week at Gordon Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in 1937 in Iredell County to the late Glenn and Nell Jordan. He and his wife Carolyn settled in Iredell and reared their 3 children. A graduate of Wake Forest College, Southeastern Theological Seminary, UNC-C, and Appalachian State; he was a public school educator for over 30 years. He then worked for Bunch-Johnson and Davie funeral homes. He served as interim pastor at area churches, including Society Baptist and Ijames Baptist, before becoming pastor at Calahaln Friendship Baptist for 40 years. A service celebrating his life was held last Sunday afternoon at Calahaln Baptist.
Richard Brazel has improved and is recuperating at home. Donnie Keller continues with trips to physical therapy almost daily and awaits skin crafting. Caleb Williams is doing well. His CT and MRI scans were good. He had a few lab numbers that were off, but his liver and lymph nodes were good. He will return for updated scans in August.
Join us in prayer for the Lord’s divine healing and blessings upon Richard, Donnie, Caleb, and other residents who are having health issues. Pray for the Lord’s support and blessings upon the family of the Reverend Jordan as they deeply miss him in life.
Our community news will again honor all students who graduated, earned a professional certificate, or received an honor or award the past year. Call or text 336-492-5115 or email sdtlink@hotmail.com details and a photo if possible.
