Local restaurant 601 Burgers & Brews will be hosting a visit from America’s Best Restaurants (ABR) in late March 2025.
America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focusing on bringing attention to local, independently-owned restaurants, will bring its ABR Roadshow to the restaurant on March 27. Popular dishes will be highlighted, along with an extensive on-camera interview with owner Amy Logan about the restaurant’s special place in the community. The episode will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date.
Named after the main road that goes through town, 601 Burgers & Brew has a low-key sports bar vibe and a menu of smashburgers, sandwiches and salads, sides and entrees that are scratch-made and unique. They offer outdoor seating, live music, and a large list of local beers.
Logan opened the popular eatery in 2016. She is looking forward to being showcased on an episode of the Roadshow to gain attention and business.
“[My goal is] to get us on the map a little more,” she says. “The community I’m in is a small community, and I think [being on an episode] would be amazing.”
Logan is hard-pressed to come up with items to feature; the menu is prepped fresh daily and many items are very popular with patrons, such as the house-made pimento cheese, which can be served as a fried appetizer; on top of the top-selling DC Classic burger along with white slaw, chili, mustard, and onions; or as a sandwich with candied bacon and fried green tomatoes, known as The Hulk.
Another top seller is the Bang-Bang Chicken sandwich, a fried or grilled breast with spicy sauce, pepper jack cheese, bacon and chipotle mayonnaise.
“I actually took that off the menu one time and I thought everybody was going to just come and strangle me, so I was like, okay, it’s coming back,” Logan says.
America’s Best Restaurants will be filming on location on Thursday, March 27 from 9 a.m.-noon.
The restaurant’s finished episode premiere date will be announced on their Facebook page and will be featured on America’s Best Restaurants’ website at https://americasbestrestaurants.com/rests/north-carolina/601-burgers-and-brews.
Restaurants featured on the ABR Roadshow are selected based on their customer reviews, menu items, social media presence, and level of involvement with their community. They are found through customer nominations, internal vetting or by a restaurant applying to be featured.
