A Mocksville family lost all of their belongings in a house fire on Friday evening, Dec. 13.
A teen-age girl first noticed the fire and ran to neighbors to call for help.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family, who in addition to their everyday belongings, lost all of their Christmas presents as well.
“The home we loved, the place where we created family memories and were preparing for a memorable Christmas, is now a total loss and is gone,” Christina Kent wrote for the GoFundMe page.
In spite of their material needs now, the family remains thankful that everyone is safe, she wrote.
“We are humbled and truly grateful for the greatest gift of all, and that is the gift of life and the safety of our family because we are still alive.
“Together, we can overcome this tragedy and be stronger than ever. With your help we can rebuild our lives and create new memories,” she said.
