Betsy Cochrane will be honored Friday in a ceremony naming a portion of I-40 in Davie County in her honor.

Cochrane, a long-time state senator from Davie County, also ran for lieutenant governor.

A portion of I-40 from the Yadkin River to Redland Road will be named “Sen. Betsy L. Cochraine Highway.”

The ceremony will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 12 at the gazebo in front of the Bermuda Run Town Hall off US 158.
