The numbers are in, and there’s a tie for the lowest food service establishment scores in Davie County for May – LaCarretta and the Oak Valley Golf Club – both in Advance.
They scored a 93, still an “A” but the lowest for the month.
Among the violations found at LaCarretta:
• observed raw chicken stored above ready to eat foods;
• mold found in nozzle of drink machine;
• salsa make unit at 47º, chicken and beef stored at 46º (cold held food must be stored at 41º or cooler);
• chicken containers with no dates;
• observed flies throughout, fruit flies over onion bin, hanging flytrap over clean plates and a food make unit, back door sweep to prevent pests from entering needs replacing;
• dishes must be air dried before stacking;
• better and more frequent cleaning needed; and
• walls need repair.
Among the violations at Oak Valley:
• person in charge not knowledgeable;
• certified food protection manager must be on site;
• copy of employee reporting agreement missing;
• nothing on file of how to handle diarrhea or vomiting event;
• hands should be washed upon entry into kitchen;
• hotdogs and chili stored at 117º and 127º (should be 135º or higher);
• food in cooler at 44º-57º, should be 41º or cooler;
• employee needed a beard guard; and
• broken tiles need to be repaired.
