Whisenhunt: 7 shutout innings
Carson Whisenhunt sparkled again in the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats’ 5-3 home win on May 13. The lefthander in the San Francisco Giants’ organization hurled a three-hit shutout for seven innings, leaving with no walks and nine strikeouts. He threw 67 strikes in 94 pitches before 4,000-plus fans.
Whisenhunt evened his record at 3-3 and lowered his ERA to 3.48.
Davie softball camp June 23-26
The Davie softball camp will run June 23-26 at the high school. Grades K-4 will go June 23-24 from 8:30-11:30 a.m., while the camp for grades 5-8 will be June 25-26 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. The cost is $60 per child. Register by June 2 to ensure T-shirt size. Walk-up registration will be available.
