Family Promise of Davie County recently received a $20,000 grant from Clayton, ensuring that families in Davie County receive the support they need to stay safely housed.
The grant is a portion of the $1.5 million Clayton is dispersing to the Family Promise national network. The funds are a result of the recently announced extension of the partnership between Family Promise and Clayton.
A Future Begins at Home, the initiative born from this collaboration, is dedicated to supporting families experiencing homelessness by helping them stay in their homes and regain stability. Since its inception in 2019, A Future Begins at Home has been a catalyst for millions in additional funding, resulting in more than 30,000 families served.
“If we can prevent families from experiencing homelessness in the first place, that’s a best-case scenario. This grant allows us to provide trauma-informed services for families in crisis in Davie County,” said Lisa Reynolds, executive director.
In addition to Clayton’s financial support, the compny donated 18 homes to the Family Promise national network since 2019, including one to Family Promise of Davie County in 2020.
Founded in Mocksville, in 2017, Family Promise is the leading nonprofit addressing the crisis of family homelessness in Davie County.
The organization addresses issues that can contribute to homelessness. From prevention to emergency shelter and transitional housing to post-program stabilization, Family Promise ensures families develop skills, have access to resources, and receive ongoing support to achieve independence.
