Shiloh Baptist Church in Mocksville ended February with a Black History Concert during the 11 a.m. worship service on Feb. 23. The choir, under the direction of Ralph Dalton, uplifted members and guests with gospel selections beginning with historical songs and ending with favorite songs of today. Songs such as “Amazing Grace,” “Precious Lord,” and “He’s an On Time God” are an epitome of the past, present and future. Each genre was preceded by an oral history of why these songs were sung.
