The 14th Annual Great Bullhole Duck Race & Family Festival scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 10  has been cancelled.

Not only that, RiverPark at Cooleemee Falls, which hosts the annual fund-raising event, is closed to the public. Heavy rains often make the park unsafe with rushing currents and changing sandbars.

Organizers did not mention a new date for the festival when announcing Saturday’s cancellation.
