There are some good deals out there for veterans. They just have to sign up to receive them.

The Davie County Veterans Service Office is teaming with Register of Deeds Kelly Funderburk to launch the “Thank a Vet” program at a 9 a.m. breakfast on Nov. 1 at the register’s office in the county administration building on South Main Street in Downtown Mocksville. Biscuits, doughnuts, muffins, coffee and other goodies will be offered.

To receive the discounts at local businesses, veterans must record a DD-214 in Davie County, or provide proof that it has been filed. Those who do will receive a ID for discounts and free items at local businesses.
