Johnny Miller, 61, walked up to No. 6 at Oak Valley on Dec. 5 holding a 9-iron. The wind did a 180, blowing in his face, so Miller turned around and grabbed his 8-iron.
It was a wise decision. Miller sank the 131-yard shot for his fifth career hole in one. His last ace came on the same hole with the same club in March of 2017.
“It was as solid an 8-iron as I could hit,” he said.
His playing partners were Danny Shore, Dustin Tucker and Luke Hairgrove.
