The Town of Bermuda Run and Davie County Arts Council will host a free outdoor concert on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. featuring “On the Border-Ultimate Eagles Tribute,” as part of the Summer Concert Series at Town Center on Kinderton Boulevard (Off US 158).
Musicians who make up On the Border: Tracy Maples (vocals, guitar); Tim Giovanniello (vocals, guitar); Bill Morgan (vocals, guitar); Andy Young (vocals, drums); Scott Sobota (vocals, bass); and Bob Orazi (vocals, keys, guitar).
Each member plays their respective character of the Eagles performing and singing their parts.
Sidniee Suggs, executive director of Davie Arts Council, sums it up: “Although The Eagles have encouraged the world to ‘take it easy’ for more than four decades, taking on the roles of these classic rockers from Southern California is a tough task. Not just any musician can nail the harmonies of Glenn Frey and Don Henley, or pull off the talk-box guitar solos of Joe Walsh. With dedication and a surplus of musical abilities On the Border – The Ultimate Eagles Tribute pulls it off, treating fans to an authentic concert experience while journeying through The Eagles’ songbook.”
The band covers hits from ballads such as “Desperado” and “Lyin’ Eyes” to rave-ups such as “Life in the Fast Lane” and “Heartache Tonight.”
Those attending need to bring lawn chairs, and if they wish, a picnic/cooler. Should weather dictate that this concert will be moved to Sunday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m., that change will be posted on the Davie County Arts Council’s Facebook site. For more information about this concert contact the arts council at 336-751-3112 before Sept. 7.
