Roger Lee Davis

Roger Lee Davis, 62, of Advance, died on Tuesday. May 30, 2017.

He was born in Forsyth County on April 9, 1955 to the late Theodore and Sallie “Irene” Pilcher Davis. He was an employee of R.J. Reynolds for 39 years. He was a charter member and Deacon of Bread of Life Baptist Church in Mocksville. He had a lifetime love of classic cars and trucks and was a NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt. He was his grandson Owen’s biggest football fan. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He was also preceded in death by: 2 brothers, Jerry and Larry Davis; a sister, Susan Neely; and grandparents, Wiley and Mary Pilcher.

Survivors: his wife of 42 years of the home, Shelia Ward Davis; his daughter, Shannon Davis Brown and his grandson, Owen Brown, hboth of Farmington; his son-in-law and friend, John Brown; an aunt, Edith (RJ) Plott; 3 brothers-in-law, Duane (Dee) Ward, Joey (Dana) Ward, and Jeff Ward; many nieces and nephews; a lifetime friend, Rose Ray; and his feline friend “Budders.”
