Faye Parker Nelson

Mrs. Faye Parker Nelson, 67, of Mocksville, died on MNay 2, 2017 after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer.

She was born in Salisbury on July 31, 1949, the daughter of Martha Basinger Parker and H.A. Parker Jr. She graduated from North Rowan High School and worked in human resources and as an executive assistant for a number of companies and local government. She grew up in Salisbury, and lived in San Diego, Calif., Denver, Colo., Danville, Va., and Mocksville. She enjoyed reading, gardening, travel, and the companionship of her cats.

Survivors: her husband of 37 years, Gregg Nelson of Mocksville; brother, Jimmy Parker and wife Gennene of Rockwell; brother, Robert Parker and wife Philly of Statesville; and sister, Katherine Goodman and husband Randy Sr. of China Grove.

A celebration of her life will be held for family and friends on Friday, May 19 from 4-7 p.m. at Union Lutheran Church, 4770 Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury, 28146.
