Mrs. Donna Badger Poe, 88, of Elm Street, Mocksville, died Friday, March 10, 2016, at her home.

She was born Feb. 1, 1929 in Ashe County to the late Joe Parker and Fannie Waddel Badger. Mrs. Poe was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Advance. She was a loving person and a great mother and grandmother.  Mrs. Poe was a sports fan, especially college basketball. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and being a homemaker. Mrs. Poe was a member of the Eastern Star.

She was also preceded in death by 3 siblings, Jackie Norman, John Badger and Ruth Bare.

Survivors: her husband of 71 years, William Joseph Poe of the home; a daughter, Mary Poe of Kernersville; a son, Todd Poe of the home; 2 grandchildren, William Poe (Rihanna) and Lisa Gregory; a great-granddaughter, Audrey Poe; and a niece, Jo Ann Fitch.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 12 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
