Dale Gray Howell, 56, of Advance, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Born Feb. 4, 1960, he was the son of Nancy Elizabeth Smith Howell of Advance and the late Roger Gray Howell. He graduated from Davie County High School and had worked for Hanesbrands for 31 years. He also loved working at the car wash and enjoyed painting and wallpaper hanging. He attended Green Meadows Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by: 2 brothers, David Howell of Advance and Dean Howell of Clemmons; a special uncle, Thurmond Howell of Winston-Salem; plus several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and an aunt, Hope Spillman.

The celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14,at Davie Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow in Green Meadows Baptist Church Cemetery.
