William Calvin ‘Bill’ Sanderson

William Calvin “Bill” Sanderson, 68, of Mocksville, died at his home Monday, Dec. 5, 2016.
A native of California, he was born May 21, 1948, the son of the late William Oliver and Evelyn Moore Sanderson. He was a 1966 graduate of Carl Hayden High School in Phoenix, Ariz. He honorably served in the United States Navy. His working career included several years with Ingersol-Rand and with Doosan Equipment Corp. in addition to other companies. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church and had been active with the Cooleemee Ruritan Club.
Survivors: his wife of 39 years, Frances Kay Wafford Sanderson of the home; a son, Christopher Shane Sanderson of Lexington; a daughter, Joni Ruth of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; and an adopted son, Brent Dean Sanderson.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Sanderson, and 2 sisters, Elaine and Juanita.
A celebration of life service was conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at Davie Funeral Chapel officiated by the Revs. Donnie Chapman and Jimmy Lancaster. Military honors were accorded by the U.S. Navy and the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family received friends in the chapel from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
