Andrew Jack Workman

Mr. Andrew Jack Workman, 94, of Workmans Way, Advance, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2016.

He was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Wyoming County, W.Va. to the late George Floyd and Susie Jane Mullens Workman. Mr. Workman was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a Purple Heart recipient during World War II. He was a member of Advance First Baptist Church. Mr. Workman was a member of DAV and Advance VFW.  He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and camping.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Katie Ruth Lambert Workman; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors: 2 daughters, Shelia Spears (Gary) of West Virginia and Debra Dancy (Kenny) of Advance; 3 sons, Jackie Workman, Russell Workman (Norma) and Ronnie Workman (Carol), all of Advance; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Winford Workman of West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 6 at Eaton Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Advance First Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors by U.S. Army National Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
