Shirley Wall Jones

Shirley Wall Jones, 78, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center.

Born June 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William Harrison Wall and Elizabeth Belle Smith Wall. For many years, she worked in housekeeping at Lake Myers Campground. She attended Freedom Baptist Church.

Survivors: her husband of 25 years, William Franklin “Sim” Ray; 3 sons, William Benjamin “Sam” Jones Jr. (Robin) of East Bend, Kelvin Ray Jones (Joanne) and Keith Eric Jones (Christal), all of Mocksville; 4 daughters, Mary Jones Hatley (Michael), Ellie Bobbitt (Scott) and Angela Jones Tran (Thanh), all of Mocksville, and Pamela Jones of High Point; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Roberts of Mocksville; 20 grandchildren, Lisa Niblo, Amy Wood, Paula Maxfield, Sonya Horne, Tiffany Holbrook, Curtis Poole, DeeAnn Bobbitt, Amanda Colwell, Timothy Bobbitt, Randy Jones Jr., Sara Jones, Sharon Soloman, Michael Jones, Gregory Jones, Dylan Harrison, Stephen Harrison, Brandon Jones, Cody Tran, Ashleigh Tran, Zakary Tran; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, William “Bub” Jones; a son, Randy Jones; a son-in-law, John Hatley; 2 grandsons, Matthew Jones and Kevin Scott Jones; and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

The family received friends at Freedom Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m. Thursday. The celebration of life service was conducted at the church at 3 p.m. Friday with Pastor Billy Louya officiating. Burial followed in the Union Chapel UMC Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Michael, Gregory, Keith and Brandon Jones and Timothy and Scott Bobbitt.
