Waymouth ‘Pop’ Hardy

Mr. Waymoth “Pop” Hardy, 81, of Cloister Drive, Mocksville, died Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.
He was born May 13, 1935, in Surry County to the late Olen Young and Ada Ann Holifield Hardy. He had attended Gospel Baptist Church. He had been employed at Mocksville Tire for the last 23 years. He enjoyed fishing and traveling to the mountains.
He was also preceded in death by: a sister, Peggy Quate; and 2 brothers, Joe Bill Hardy and Claude Hardy.
Survivors: his wife of 61 years, Daisy H. Hardy of the home; 3 children, Vickie Ann Lapham (Roderick) of Salisbury, Debra Kay London and Wayne Hardy (Melissa), all of Mocksville; a granddaughter, Crissy Plott Catenis (James) of Florida; 2 great-grandchildren, Benjamin Carter Catenis and Vivian Tess Catenis; a brother, Aldean Hardy (Shirley) of Westfield; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 14 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Johnny Abee and Jason Whitaker officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
A graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 15 at Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery.
