Davie County Schools (DCS) has announced Valerie Feezor as the new principal at William Ellis Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year, replacing current principal Cassandra Morrison, who is retiring June 30, 2025.
Feezor, serving as the director of accountability and student information for Davie County Schools, has been with the system since 2021 when she was hired to lead the Davie County Virtual School.
She has extensive experience in the classroom and at the school administrator level serving as middle and high school math teacher, lead teacher, assistant principal, principal and accountability in Davidson County prior to joining DCS. She has served on many district committees and teams, and mentored principal interns, school leaders and teachers.
“Throughout her career as a classroom teacher, school leader, and district administrator, Mrs. Feezor has brought dedication, high expectations, and a history of building positive culture and strong relationships,” said Jinda Haynes, Davie County Schools Interim Superintendent. “Her desire to return to the school level speaks volumes about her heart for students and her desire to be where she can make the most direct impact on our students.”
Feezor attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics, and earned her master’s in education, curriculum and instruction from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and completed additional educational leadership and administration degree from Gardner-Webb University.
Feezor will begin her new role on July 1.
