James Chester ‘Jim’ Johnson

Mr. James Chester “Jim” Johnson, 73, of Advance, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Health.
He was born Feb. 14, 1942 in Iredell County to Shelby Nell Feimster Johnson and Chester Lee Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army and was of the Methodist faith. He was owner and operator of B.J.’s Country Food for 26 years and owner and operator of Texaco on Cloverdale Avenue.
Surviving: his wife of 45 years, Bessie Poole Johnson; 2 daughters, Sandy Cox (Gary) of Charlotte and Amanda Sanders (A.J.) of Mocksville; 3 grandchildren, Chase and Chad Cox of Charlotte and Blaze Sanders of Mocksville; a sister, Laranda Johnson of Statesville; 2 cousins, Nancy Laws and Peggy Pope; and a special nephew, Lynn Cleary.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bobby Swaim officiating. The family received friends Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.
