Jo Ann Funkhauser

Jo Ann “Jackie” Funkhauser, 79, of Council Bluffs, Iowa died Thursday, June 19, 2014, at her home after a battle with cancer.

She was born April 22, 1935, in Mocksville to the late Will and Annie (Jarvis) Call. She graduated from Mocksville High School in 1953. She married Donald H. Funkhauser on Dec. 30, 1956. They had with 3 children, Donald D., Diane and Mark. She worked at A.I. Root for 26 years as a sales coordinator. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. Funkhauser in 2003; and her sister, Alice Call.

Survivors: her daughter, Diane (fiance’ Clint Brown) Funkhauser; sons, Don Funkhauser, Mark (Lisa) Funkhauser, all of Council Bluffs; 8 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Harry “Bucky” Call of Mocksville; nieces; nephews; and her special dog, “Dixie.”

Visitation was Sunday, June 22 at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service was Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial was in Garner Township Cemetery.
