Barbara Marie Fowler Turner, 88, of Crumpler passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2022 at her home.

Mrs. Turner was born Aug. 5, 1934 in Wilkes County to the late Leonard Wilson Fowler and Sally Andrews Hutchens. She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Houston Turner; a son, Ronald Turner; brothers, Henry Dillard Fowler and Sherman James Fowler; and sister, Betty Lou Bell.

Barbara enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, sewing and spending time with her cats. She had worked for Southern Bell Telephone.

Private graveside services were held at 11  a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 at the Fowler-Brown Cemetery.

Mrs. Turner is survived by: daughters, Lisa Beddington of Advance and Melinda Oates of Walnut Cove; son, Michael Smith of Winston-Salem; special grandson, Richard Wright of Colfax;  13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
