Billie Gray Plowman, 76, of Advance, NC, departed this world on Nov. 10, 2021 from Woltz Hospice Home in Surry County.
Bill, as he was so lovingly known, was born on July 28, 1945 in Davie County, NC. He was the son of the late William Ellis Plowman and Belva Anne (Fox) Plowman. In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife Wanda Faye (Lawson) Plowman and his sister Ruth Whitaker.
In life, Bill attended Smith Grove School. He later began a career with Taylor Brothers as plant supervisor where he worked for 31 years before retiring. He was a member of Farmington Masonic Lodge. In his free time Bill enjoyed hunting, saltwater fishing, and skeet shooting.
Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory: a son, Stacey Gray Plowman (Kim) of Advance; grandchildren, Renee Plowman Chilton (Jeff) of Mocksville, Dillan Plowman, Vada Faye Plowman; a great-grandchild, Jeffrey Grayson Chilton; brothers, William Plowman of Mocksville, David Plowman (Angie) of Clarksville, Tenn., Larry Plowman of Hickory, and Danny Plowman (Linda) of Siler City; sisters, Sara Swaim (George) of Winston-Salem, Katie Clinard (Dave) of Lexington, Elizabeth Smith of Advance, and Kathy Plowman of Clemmons, who will all miss Bill greatly.
No services are planned, the family will hold a service at a later date.
