Mr. Robert “Dale” Carter, 79, of Mocksville, died Friday, July 16, 2021 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Yadkinville.

He was born on Feb. 24, 1942 in Davidson County to the late Paul M. and Rachel D. Carter. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Bobby Carter and Terry Carter.

He loved fishing, working in the garden, and woodworking. The biggest joy of his life was his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Survivors: his wife of 36 years, Pam Carter; his children, Dawn Allen (David) of Mocksville, Dennis Whitaker (Tammy) of Ada, Okla., and Jimmy Carter (Tammy) of Mocksville; 9 grandchildren, Holly McDaniel, Michael Hamilton, Tracy Barnes, Christina Prevette, Brittany Head, Derek Whitaker, Michelle Mills, Miranda Williams, Cassie Dontrell; 22 great-grandchildren; his 5 siblings, Paulette Hendrix (Jerry), Bunni Patti (Vic), Michael Carter (Mitzi), Kathy Spainhour (Ron), and Joy Hicks (Richard).

A celebration of life will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 25 at Cooleemee Church of God with Pastor Bruce Harry officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
