Mrs. Estelle Allen Smith, 89, of Mocksville, died on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.

She was born June 6, 1929 in Davie County to the late Wesley C. and Flora Phelps Allen. Mrs. Smith was a lifetime member of Redland Pentecostal Church in Advance.  She graduated from Mocksville High School and later married George E. Smith. Mrs. Smith retired from Mocksville Insurance Agency. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and working in her flowers.  Her passion for the research and genealogy and the knowledge she retained was a special interest to all.

She was also preceded in death by: her husband; an infant daughter; a grandson, Shannon; a brother, Clarence Allen; 3 sisters, Edna Long, Ellen Sain and Elizabeth Teague; 2 nephews, Steve Teague and Frankie Allen; and a niece, Rebecca Long Day.

Survivors: a son, George Michael Smith (Kathy); 3 grandchildren, Shanda Sechrest (Jonathan), Shane Hartness and Blake Smith (Shirlena); 7 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Skylar, M.J., Jaxon, Lana, Lillie and Layla.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 1 at Redland Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
