Mrs. Sara Jones Campbell, 94, of Mocksville, died Friday, April 5, 2019 at Davie Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Campbell was born May 14, 1924, in Clayton to the late Mack Mayon and Lynida Gulley Jones. Upon graduation from Burlington Business College, she worked for Winston Associated Transport Co., Eastern Tennessee Trucking Co., Crescent Electric Co. and finally, the Davie County Enterprise. She retired from the Enterprise after 67 years.

She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Prentice Campbell; her sister, Lois; her half-sister, Bessie; her half-brothers, Casey and John; her stepson, Jim; and her step-grandson, Michael.

Survivors: her son, Bill and wife Pat; her granddaughters, Beth (Dan) and Ann; her grandsons, Brent and Jimmy; her great-granddaughter, Marriam; and her great-grandsons, Asher, Alex, CJ, Solomon and Christian.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m., Monday, April 8 at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Glenn L. Myers Jr. officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
