Henry Clay Heath Jr.

Mr. Henry Clay Heath Jr., 70, of Advance, died on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019.

He was born in Forsyth County on June 16, 1948 to the late Henry Clay Heath Sr. and Betty York Heath. He graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1966. He also graduated from Wingate University. He was a Green Beret in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in the information technology department at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., retiring with 34 years. He was a member of Pinedale Christian Church where he served as a Deacon.  He was a man of many talents. Following retirement, he developed a passion for woodworking and became a master wood worker. He also enjoyed creating stained glass and repairing clocks.

Surviving: his wife, Weeta Spainhour Heath of the home; a son, Jason Clay Heath (Kelly) of Pfafftown; a step-son, Shane Baker (fiancé, Chelsea Warner) of Dover, N.H.; 2 granddaughters, Hannah Heath and Baleigh Layell; a sister, Jackie Covington (Joe) of Clemmons; 2 nieces, Susan Carter of Winston-Salem and Sandra Cairncross of El Cajon, Calif.; and a sister-in-law, Verna Brewer of King.

A celebration of life service was held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 19 at Pinedale Christian Church with Pastors Matthew Sink and Bill McKenzie officiating.  The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
