Martha Madeline Richardson Lapish

Mrs. Martha Madeline Richardson Lapish, 85, of Mocksville, died on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
She was born July 9, 1933, in Davie County to the late Robert Lincoln and Martha Alice Keller Richardson. Mrs. Lapish was a member of New Union United Methodist Church. She graduated from Davie County High School, Class of 1951. After retirement from Monleigh Garment Manufacturing, she volunteered at A Storehouse For Jesus. She was always welcoming and helpful to anyone in need.
She was also preceded in death by: her husband, James Garfield Lapish; a daughter, Mary Alice Lapish Loman; and 3 brothers, Edward, Perry and Alan Richardson.
Survivors: 2 sons, James Lapish of Lewisville and Vance Lapish of Salisbury; 4 sisters, Virginia Mullis of Lewisville, Shelby Cartner (Jim) of Harmony, Christine Speer of Mocksville and Barbara Reavis (Lane) of Harmony; 2 brothers, James Richardson (Carolyn) of Mocksville and Ronald Richardson of Statesville; 5 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Eaton Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Brian Speer officiating. Burial will follow in New Union United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
