Robert Curtis ‘Bob’ Pollard

Mr. Robert “Bob” Curtis Pollard, 83, of Advance, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019 at his home.

He was born Jan. 26, 1935 in Jefferson County, Ky. to the late Cecil Harold and Christine Lee Snavely Pollard. Mr. Pollard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean Conflict.   

He was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Grace Lynn Hanley Pollard.

Survivors: 2 sons, Milton Allen Pollard (Marsha) and Paul Douglas Pollard, all of South Carolina; 2 daughters, Patricia Ann Pollard (Scott Marion) of Mocksville and Barbara Lee Bailey (Clint) of Yadkinville; 4 grandchildren, Robert Mack Pollard (Kelly), Stephn Barrett Krimm Pollard, Cody Austin Pollard and Carter Hanley Pollard; 2 great-grandsons, Garrett Ashe Pollard and Hanley Iric Pollard.

A funeral service was to be conducted at noon Thursday, Jan. 24 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Philip Brande officiating. Burial was to follow in Salisbury National Cemetery with military honors conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy. The family was to receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
