Cory Justin Turner Jr. died on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019 in Davis Regional Hospital following years of battling diabetes.

He was born on Jan. 28, 1977 in Sacramento, Calif, a son of the late William Turner. He had resided in Iredell County for the past 28 years and was educated in the Iredell County Public Schools. He loved the outdoors, fishing, football and German Shephard dogs. He was a down-to-earth guy who would always make others laugh. Wearing a hat was his signature, and he always wore a hat. Art was his hobby, and he could draw anything. His children were his world.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Carla Turner.

Survivors: a son, Cory Turner Jr.; 3 daughters, Angel Turner, Deseree Turner and Birelle Turner; a brother, Byron Turner; his girlfriend, Laura Lawrie; and other relatives and friends.

A service of remembrance will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18 in the chapel of Graham Funeral Home in Mocksville. Pastor Charlene L. Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
