Even snow can’t stop the opening of a new ABC Store.

Mocksville’s opened this week in the Eastgate Shopping Center on Yadkinville Road, between Tractor Supply and Peebles.

It is the town’s first, and opens years after the measure was approved by voters.

Kris Howell, manager, told town board members last week that 1,200 cases of liquor were ordered and final touches were being put on the store.

“The board (Ken Boger, Alex Thompson and Benny Randall) you picked has been amazing. It’s a good group and they have done an absolutely great job,” she said

She said the board and store hope to be involved in the community, and that a grand opening will be held in early January.
