Section 5311 (ADTAP), 5310, 5339, 5307 and applicable State funding, or combination thereof.

This is to inform the public that a public hearing will be held on Monarch’s proposed Consolidated Capital Community Transportation Program Application to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation no later than November 4, 2017. The public hearing will be held on Monday, October 16 at 7 p.m. before the Stanly County Board of Commissioners at 7 p.m. at Stanly Commons, 1000 N. First St. Albemarle, NC 28001.

Those interested in attending the public hearing and needing auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or a language translator should contact Laurie Weaver by October 13, at telephone number 704-986-1536 or via email at laurie.weaver@monarchnc.org.

The Community Transportation Program provides assistance to coordinate existing transportation programs operating in Davie County as well as provides transportation options and services for the communities within this service area.  These services are currently provided using YVEDDI Public Transportation. Services are rendered by YVEDDI Public Transportation.

The total estimated amount requested for the period July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019 in this region is $29,981 with a Monarch share of $2,998 required. MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to G.S. 163-33(8), which the registration books will close on Friday, October 13th, for the  Municipal elections for the towns of Bermuda Run, Cooleemee and Mocksville to be held Tuesday, November 7, 2017.  The following will be submitted to the qualified voters in the municipalities.

Bermuda Run – Councilmen (three seats)

Cooleemee – Commissioner – (two seats)

Mocksville –  Commissioner (three seats)

Absentee voting will be permitted in the Municipal Election.  Applications for absentee ballots by mail will be accepted by the Board of Elections beginning, Sunday, October 8 until Tuesday, October 31 at 5:00 p.m.  One –Stop voting will begin on, Thursday, October 19 until Friday, November 3 weekdays, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 4, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Persons wishing to register and vote after the registration deadline may appear in person at the one stop absentee voting site, complete a voter registration application and provide proof of residency by presenting valid documents showing current name and address.

The Davie County Board of Elections will conduct absentee meetings in the Board of Elections office on the following dates:  October 17, 24, 31 and November 6, at 4:45 p.m.

The polling locations at Hillsdale Baptist Church; Cooleemee VFD; First Presbyterian Church and the Multipurpose Room in the Davie County Public Library will be open 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

Persons with questions about registration, absentee voting, one stop voting, location of polling places and other election matters may call the Board of Elections office at 336-753-6072 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
