Thomas Lee Barnes Sr.

Thomas Lee Barnes Sr., 36, of Concord, died on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017.

Born in Robeson County on May 15, 1981, he was the son of Debbie Carol Jacobs Oxendine and the late Kenneth Dwayne Barnes. He worked in the residential construction industry and was a member of Bible Missionary Baptist Church in Rockwell.

Survivors: his mother, Debbie Jacobs of Mocksville; a son, Thomas Lee Barnes Jr. of Cleveland, N.C.; 3 daughters, Kaylee, Hannah and Chloe Sartain, all of Concord; 3 brothers, Justin Joplin and Brandon Joplin, both of Kannapolis, and Travis Joplin of Mocksville; a sister, Tina Kearns (Rob) of Advance; his maternal grandmother, Nancy Paptis of Robeson County; and his paternal grandmother, Kathryn McDaniel of Cooleemee.

The family received friends from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 at Davie Funeral Chapel. The service followed at 3 p.m. with Pastor Buddy Hoffner officiating.
