Mrs. Brenda Gail Stroud Gregory, 79, of Mocksville, peacefully passed away Wednesday, July 30 at her home.
She was born on Aug. 10, 1945 in Iredell County to the late Wade Burdette and Beulah Mae York Stroud.
Brenda was the “Best Nana Ever,” and was deeply proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. She brought warmth, laughter, and a bit of mischief to all who knew her. She delighted in convincing her grandkids to push the “try me” buttons on toys in the store. She was a hardworking woman with a strong spirit who loved the simple joys in life: relaxing at the beach, catching an episode of NCIS, sipping iced tea or coffee, and always had her Winston Lights nearby.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Bob Gregory; a stepson, Mike Gregory; and siblings, Sylvia Stroud Smith, Linda Stroud Carter, and Jerry Wayne Stroud Sr.
Survivors include: her daughters, Jackie Hepler (Ray) and Lisa Shoaf (Mike); grandchildren, Ashley Shoaf (Chris), Ryan Hepler (Alicia), and Kati Shoaf; a great-grandson, Matthew Hepler; her brother and now the patriarch of their family, Sonny Stroud (Cindy); a special niece, Lori Carter Gunter (Keith); several beloved nieces & nephews; and special friends, Bonnie Stroud and Gloria Jean Holder.
A graveside service was conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4 in Yadkin Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Scott Jackson and Mr. David Carter officiating. The family received friends on Sunday, Aug. 3 at Eaton Funeral Home.
