Our community extends sympathy to the family of the Rev. James “Jimmy” Harold Gryder, who died Sunday of last week. He was born in Iredell County to the late James Harvey and Mabel Brown Gryder and was reared on Stroud Road. In 1973 Jimmy accepted the call to God’s ministry, completed studies at Piedmont Bible College, taught at Victory Bible Institute, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Trinity Bible Institute. He served as pastor of Calvary Baptist of Mocksville for more than 41 years. A service celebrating his life was held Saturday afternoon at Lambert Funeral Chapel; he was laid to rest in Rose Cemetery.
We send get-well wishes to Jean Evans Cleary, and Dee Daniels Vanhoy. Jean was hospitalized for surgery for a broken leg after she fell last week; she is recuperating at home. Dee had back surgery last week and is recuperating at home. Romaro Scott has improved and is in rehab at Avante of Wilkesboro.
Join us in prayer for the Lord’s divine healing and blessings upon Jean, Dee, Romaro, and other residents who are having health issues. Pray for the Lord’s blessings and comfort upon the family of Jimmy as they deeply miss him in life.
Remember in prayer Mark and Amy Koontz; her father Robert Lee “Buddy” Moore Jr. died Wednesday of last week after a battle with Stage 4 prostate cancer.
