Miss Melissa Michelle Abshire, 54, of Roberson Drive, Mocksville, died Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
She was born on July 14, 1970, in Pike County, Ky. to the late James Lawson and Anna Ruth Pauley Abshire.
Melissa was a collector who loved working crossword puzzles, being around people, and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a sister, Loretta Abshire; and longtime partner, Clifford Webb.
Survivors include: her partner, James “Junior” Roberson; 5 siblings, James Abshire, Anna Webb, Rosemary Newsome, William Abshire (Brenda), and Sue Shrewsbury (Carl); 2 step-grandchildren, Chloe and Bonnie Roberson; a special niece, Therease Smith; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, July 11 at Eaton Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
