Mr. Lewis Francis Rothrock, 87, of Mocksville, passed away Friday, June 27, 2025 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center with his loving wife by his side.
He was born in Forsyth County on March 18, 1938 to the late Burton John and Hope Elizabeth Kinnamon Rothrock.
Lewis retired from RJ Reynolds after a career as a mechanical development specialist. He found great joy in riding his tractor, fishing, especially with his brother Johnny, or heading out west to hunt with his dear friend Charles. He was an expert gardener and found much happiness in sharing his crops with others. Lewis loved life and lived it to the fullest, making many wonderful memories. He had a knack for storytelling and sharing those memories with others. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and always made everyone feel loved and special. He looked forward to celebrating every occasion and holiday with family and friends. Lewis had an especially kind heart. He was compassionate, generous and always willing to help others. He will be greatly missed, but the impact he has made on so many lives will live forever. Lewis proudly served his country in the US Marines and continued his service by serving in the Honor Guard.
In addition to his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by: his daughter, Michelle Rothrock Blake; siblings, Marion Rothrock and Brenda Joyce Rothrock; nephew-in-law, Kevin Foster; sisters-in-law, Marie Seamon and Polly Lagle; brothers-in-law, Cecil Seamon and Paul Lagle; and nephew, Steve Seamon.
Survivors include: his wife and best friend of 65 wonderful years, Jean Baker Rothrock; granddaughter, Sydney Michelle Blake (AJ); brother, Johnny Rothrock (Diane); sister-in-law, Jenny Aguallo (Gabe); nieces, Paula Seaford (Kim), Kim Junker (Will), Marcia Baker (Brian); nephew, Jonathan Aguallo (Audrey); and several great nieces and great nephews.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 2 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bob Summers and Rev. Charles Lindquist officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1 at Eaton Funeral Home.
