On May 30, Brenda and Jim Thompson and Linda and Wade Leonard left for Seattle, Wash. to board the Norwegian Bliss for an Alaskan cruise.
They visited several ports to include Sitka, visiting the Sitka National Historical Park which had many huge totem poles; the next day they visited Scenic Juneau and Gardens where the rainforests were breathtaking; the next port was Icy Strait Point where they rode the Sky Peak Gondola (I got over my fear of heights quickly.). We had hope to have seen some Glaciers on our way there, but it was much too foggy; the next port was Ketchikan, where we saw an Alaskan Lumberjack show; and then lastly, but not least, was a stop in Victoria, British Columbia to see the Butchant Gardens. This was a perfect ending to our trip.
If you ever get a chance to take an Alaskan cruise or go to British Columbia, don’t hesitate for it was an experience I will never forget. Linda and I both have a love for flowers, so the Butchant Gardens were a dream come true. There are so many varieties of plants and gardens that you would need a few days there to see them all.
