Jennie Lind O’Brian Schilagi

Mrs. Jennie Lind O’Brian Schilagi, our dear Mom, Grandma J, cherished wife, and treasured aunt, cousin, and friend, died peacefully at home in Bermuda Run, NC, on Friday, June 6, after a beautiful life of 82 years. She brought joy and love to everyone around her, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, humor, beauty, grace, and her radiant smile.
Jennie was born on Feb. 21, 1943 in Oxford, NC to Brodie Marsh O’Brian and Clara Beck O’Brian. Formerly the President of Bermuda Run Country Club, Jennie spent her retirement years pouring her heart into restoring and beautifying the beloved home she shared with her devoted husband, Frank, while generously spreading her warmth and kindness to family and friends across Houston, Oxford, Buffalo, New York City, and beyond.
In addition to her parents, Jennie was preceded in death by: her brother, Ray O’Brian; and her sisters, Peggy Yancey, Charlotte Roach, and Jean Hight.
She is survived by: her husband, Frank Schilagi; 2 children, Chrystal Slivinsky (Rob) and Scott Schilagi; 2 grandchildren, Zachary Slivinsky (Aspen) and Lucas Slivinsky (Jenna); 3 great-grandchildren, Olivia Slivinsky, Harrison Slivinsky, and Jackson Slivinsky; and countless other relatives, friends, and caregivers whose lives she touched with her love and light.
A Celebration of Life for Jennie will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: the Alzheimer’s Association, Western Carolina Chapter (www.alz.org/northcarolina).
