Marie Ratledge Powell

Marie Ratledge Powell was born Aug. 10, 1929, in Forsyth County to the late Cletus and Ruby Ratledge.
She was raised in Yadkin County and later found her love and her life in Davie County. Marie was a woman strong in her convictions and in her faith. She was a long-time member of Center Methodist Church and the Center community. Above all, Marie was a loving and devoted wife and mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Ben; her children, Brenda and Ron; her sister, Susie; and her twin brothers, Kerman and Thurmond.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Cathy, with whom she spent her final years residing; as well as her grandchildren, Kayla, Eric, Paige and Jennifer; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Emily, Ariel and Patrick.
In life, Marie was an avid reader, music lover, and a wonderful cook. She valued her family more than anything and showered the ones she cared about most with unconditional love and support that words couldn’t begin to describe. Marie will be truly and sorely missed. She passed peacefully, surrounded by the ones she loved, on the morning of June 4, 2025.

There will be a fellowship luncheon at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, June 8 Center Methodist Church. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. in the church cemetery, with Rev. Jesse Teal officiating.
