D&M Farms on Calahaln was named North Carolina’s Conservation Farm Family of the Year. As Craig Myers stated, this award was a great honor for it’s a reflection of their family’s faith, hard work and commitment. He states that much of the credit to Tommy Dyson, Jessica’s father and his father-in-law, for this farm is his legacy. Craig, Jessica and their children, Bradley and Allie have learned from Tommy how to face hard days, how to care for the land, and lead by example. D&M Farms of Calahaln raises chickens, cattle and crops, but most importantly, it is where the Myers are raising their children to understand the value of faith, family and doing things the right way. I know Tommy is proud of Craig and his family for carrying on what Tommy’s dad, Leroy, started many years ago. An awards banquet was held May 23 in their honor. There was even a message from the White House. I’ll be the first to say they have great steaks, roasts and hamburger meat. Be sure to check them out on Facebook. I’m also proud of Allie and Bradley for starting their own business “Calahaln Tallow,” which makes a moisturizing lotion. Thanks to Jessica Dyson for sharing this information and photos.
