Richard Henry Crotts

Mr. Richard Henry Crotts, 71, of Gumberry Lane, Mocksville, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
He was born on June 13, 1953 in Davie County to the late Henry Turner and Katherine Elizabeth Tutterow Crotts.
Richard attended Liberty United Methodist Church and was an accomplished brick mason for many years. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, working in his vegetable garden, and operating outside machinery. Richard also loved football and had been co-captain of the Davie High Rebels. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, with family and friends, and especially his brother, David.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Debra Sparks Crotts.
Survivors include: 3 children, Mark Alan Crotts (Meggan) of Stony Point, Beth Crotts Westmoreland (Jody) of Clemmons, and Brandi Crotts Akinade (Sam) of Winston-Salem; 5 grandchildren, Mason Westmoreland, Logan Westmoreland, Ethan Akinade, Ruby Westmoreland, and Isabell Akinade; his siblings, David Crotts, Vickie Potts, Dan Crotts (Angela), and Tina Felts (Keith), all of Mocksville; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service was conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Liberty United Methodist Church with Dr. Darren Crotts officiating. Interment followed in Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service, at the church.
