Mary Ann Brindle Carter, 59, of Cooleemee, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at The Laurels of Salisbury surrounded by her siblings.
She was born on Sept. 9, 1965 in Davie County to the late Charlie Edward and Maggie Ann Green Brindle.
Mary Ann was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and worked at Fieldcrest Cannon for 15 years before becoming the Assistant Manager at Cooleemee Elementary School Cafeteria, where she worked for 26 years and made lasting impressions on the students and staff. She loved watching her sons play baseball, attending women’s college basketball games and cruising with her family. She enjoyed volunteering for the Halloween Carnival and Heritage Day in Cooleemee and the Cooleemee Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Mary Ann loved her family very much, especially Charlie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her brother, Billy Brindle; and brother-in-law, Darrell Agner.
She is survived by: her children, George Carter of Salisbury, Ryan Carter (Chelsea) of Cooleemee, and Charlie Carter of the home; siblings, Tommy Brindle (Diana) of Farmington, Teresa Agner of the home, Shaun Chaffin of Mocksville; grandson, Micah Carter; niece, Annie Benton; and adopted sisters, Kathy Doss and TJ Huntley.
A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, March 10 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Summers officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, March 9 at Eaton Funeral Home.
