Mr. Sanford Woodruff Frye, 83, of Mocksville, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
He was born on March 3, 1941 in Rowan County to the late James Vern and Eleanor Woodruff Frye.
Mr. Frye was a member of Mocksville Masonic Lodge A.F and A.M #134. He retired from Duke Power with over 30 years of service. Sworn with Davie County Sheriff’s Office for 51 years, he was also a volunteer firefighter with Cooleemee and Mocksville for 27 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Ann Sain Frye; and a son, William Sanford “Sandy” Frye.
Survivors include: a significant other of 18 years, Linda Michael; 2 sisters, Pat Frye Foster (Mike), and Kathy Frye Cornatzer (Emory); special son, Randy Boger (Jayne); grandchildren, William Samuel “Sam” Frye (Jessica), William Nicholas “Nick” Frye, Elizabeth Holt, Katie Boger Eldreth, and Halleigh Golding; great-grandchildren, Piper Frye and Luke Foster; a daughter- in- law, Debbie Frye; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 21 at Lambert Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Smith officiating. The family invites friends to visit at the funeral home following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be considered to the donor’s choice.
