Nov. 27-30, a series of property damage and larceny incidents occurred in Mocksville’s Rich Park.
Approximately $2,100 worth of property was damaged.
Davie Community Park, Southwood Drive in Mocksville, had approximately $4,000 worth of property damaged on multiple
occasions.
Additionally, All Fired Up Tobacco Shop, 1360 Salisbury Rd, Mocksville, NC, had merchandise stolen.
The Rich Park incident involved juveniles turning over picnic tables, breaking windows, and
attempting to enter doors. Video surveillance was used to identify the juveniles.
In the Davie Community Park incident, juveniles are seen throwing pieces of bricks at a window
and breaking it. The estimated cost of the damage to the window is $900. The same juveniles also
threw a large rock against the entrance sign, which will cost approximately $3,000 to replace. Video
surveillance was used to identify the juveniles.
In the All Fired up Tobacco Shop incident, the juveniles went into the store and grabbed several
vapes from a shelf and ran out the door. Video surveillance was reviewed, and the juveniles were
identified as the same ones from the Rich Park incident.
Investigation into these incidents determined that all these crimes were committed by the same
group of juvenile suspects, said Davie Sheriff JD Hartman. The juveniles were identified and are age 16, 15, and 12 years old. Deputies
were also able to interview all the juveniles involved.
The three juveniles were charged with injury to real property, misdemeanor larceny, felony
breaking and entering through the Davie County Juvenile Court System.
