The Cognition Challenge is getting closer to its goal of $100,000 by the end of the year.
As of Monday, it stood at 492,592. If the goal is met, the Davie Community Foundation and the Mebane Charitable Foundation will each add $25,000.
The goal is to allow Cognition to hire an executive director with business experience and a vision for the future, without the responsibility of raising money to keep the doors open from Day 1.
“If you believe as we do that Cognition adds value to our community and has the potential to expand its offerings, we invite you to help them finish the challenge by donating by Dec. 31,” said Jane Simpson, president of the Davie Community Foundation.
“Together, we can ensure Cognition has the resources it needs to foster creativity and critical thinking through educational play and STEAM learning for all ages,” said Larry C. Colbourne, president of the Meband Charitable Foundation.
