Mrs. Alyce Marian Hambright Bagshaw, 76, of Yadkinville, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 24, 2023, at Surry Community Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mount Airy.

Mrs. Bagshaw was born June 29, 1947 in Cleveland County, the daughter of the late Quay Elmer Hambright and Joyce Hardin Hambright Setzer. Alyce grew up in Winston-Salem, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University. She taught at William R. Davie Elementary School for many years, and she retired from Davie County Schools in 2004 after 34 years of dedicated service.

She is survived by: her husband of 53 years, Greg Bagshaw; a son, Alan Bagshaw; a sister and brother-in-law, Laura “Bunny” and Marion Rakes; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenny and Pat Hambright, Roger and Rhonda Hambright, and Anthony “Cubby” and Sherry Hambright; her best friend, Carol Donn; and a bonus child, Joey Wilson.

The family is planning a celebration of life service for a later date.
