Mr. Jimmie Guy Mullis, 84, of US Hwy. 158, Mocksville, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023 at his daughter’s home.
He was born on Oct. 14, 1939 in Alexander County to the late William Lewis Mullis Sr. and the late Anna Belle Carrigan Mullis.
He served four years in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, worked at Purina for many years, and later retired from T.M.W. Trucking. He enjoyed visiting with his friends, telling jokes, and watching football, especially college football. He loved his church and attended Redland Pentecostal Church for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Annie Marie Tallent Mullis; a son, Jimmie Guy Mullis Jr.; a brother, William Lewis Mullis Jr.; and an infant brother, Jerry Lee Mullis.
Survivors include: his daughters, Glenda M. Seehafer (Robby) of Hendersonville, TN, Teresa M. Morgan (Gene) of Mocksville, and Martha M. Bradshaw (John) of Newton Grove; grandchildren, Heather Potts (Dusty), Brandon Godbey (Megan), Josh Mullis (Crysta), Kaitlyn Young, and Lexie Seehafer; great-grandchildren, Zane, Zaylin, Zeek, Ryker, Maeli, Charlie, Nick, and Lena Rose; 2 brothers, Terry Mullis and Tony Mullis; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with Mr. Tim Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
